Software security

Our software is developed using Microsoft.NET and SQL Server, both enterprise level platforms.

Our systems have been built by developers with many years of experience in donation processing and software development. Robust role based security and auditing capabilities are built into our tools to ensure full accountability and auditability of your data and financial information.

Encryption and storage

Data security is a key consideration at Synetech.

Any retained credit card data is stored using 3DES encryption developed by the Department of Defense. When credit card remittances are scanned into the system, the card numbers are irrevocably redacted immediately after charging the card. Images are stored on redundant RAID systems and offsite backups take place nightly and monthly, with long term image archiving to bank safe deposit on a regular basis.

Process security

Our facility and processes emphasize security of your receipts and data.

All of our employees undergo background checks, and all areas where mail is physically handled are monitored by security cameras. Mail opening and batching is conducted visibly on large tables in an open area, with supervisors monitoring the process. Handling of deposit instruments is limited to the opening, batching, and scanning phases only, after which point the deposit instruments are secured until the time of deposit.

By conducting all data entry off images, we mitigate any possibility of lost remittance documents or misplaced checks. We believe that minimal handling of the physical remittance and deposit items is essential to smooth processing.
